Accused awaits sentencing for wounding

Thirty-five-year-old Mohamed Gobes, made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of the Pademba Road Court No.3 in Freetown on two count charges to wit wounding contrary to Section 20 of the Offense Against the Persons Act 1861 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the same act.

It was allaged that on Thursday, 19th October, 2023, at Fire Burn in the Western Area in Freetown, the accused maliciously wounded and assaulted Alie Sesay in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read and explained to him, he pleaded guilty.

The accused person was unrepresented by legal representative.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Santigie Bangura adjourned the matter to the 29th November 2023 for recording and sentencing.
