Leaders of the two main political parties in Parliament have moved a private member motion for an immediate investigation into the armed attack that totally disrupted the peace of Sierra Leone.
The attack which took place in the early hours of Sunday, November 26, has attracted wider condemnations and government on Tuesday confirmed that it was an attempted coup.
Hon. Mathew Nyuma, Leader of Government Business, moved the motion which was seconded by the opposition leader, Hon. Abdul Kargbo of the All People’s Congress.
Hon. Nyuma noted that government should immediately institute an investigation into the act and hold accountable all those who participated either directly or indirectly in the said act.
Meanwhile, investigations into the incident are ongoing with some significant arrest made, according to the security sector.
