Concord Times adjudged best newspaper in Sierra Leone

Concord Times has been adjudged the best newspaper in Sierra Leone.

Following Concord Times is Awoko newspaper.

Both Concord Times and Awoko were the only newspapers selected from Sierra Leone.

This is according to a newly published 2022 newspaper ranking by the highly respected SCImago Lab.

SCImago is a key partner for institutions, local and national governments and international organizations.

SCImago is both a Spanish consulting company (Scimago Lab) and a network of research groups working in several Spanish and Latin American academic institutions that perform specialized research in scientometrics, scientific publishing and web visibility.

SCImago is a key partner for institutions, local and national governments and international organizations as it provides innovative solutions to improve scientific visibility and manage knowledge through a set of actions that include setting up institutional political frameworks, strengthening of human capacities, development of infrastructure necessary to carry out research and strategies aimed at giving visibility to the research outputs pre and post publication.

Concord Times Newspaper was founded in 1992; it is Sierra Leone’s leading publication.

The Newspaper has a reputation for quality, fair and unbiased news stories and features article.

The new milestone by the newspaper was received with much anticipation by its teaming readers, staff and management.

“SCImago made no mistake to put you at the forefront of all other newspapers in the country and beyond. Concord is a not only news media outlet but a university for print journalists,” an ardent reader of the paper told Alusine Sesay, Editor of Concord Times.

This recognition will further motivate us to work assiduously towards achieving that goal,” expressed Gabriel Benjamin, Chief Operating Officer of Concord Times.

According to the SCImago Media Ranking, out of 174 countries, Concord Times represented Sierra Leone at 129th followed by Awoko Newspaper ranked at 154.
