Accused remanded for alleged cyber bullying

twenty -year old Issa Mohamed Kamara has been remanded for alleged cyber bullying of one Ibrahim Mohamed Sama of number 31 Prince William Street, Kossoh Town, Jui in Freetown.

The accused person stands trial before Magistrate Mark Ngeba of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown, on a count charge of cyber bullying contrary to Section 44 (2) (b) of Cybercrime Act 2021.

It was alleged that, between 3rd April 2023 to 13th April 2023 in Freetown he did send grossly and offensive messages through social media WhatsApp and voice calls on the number +23231317744 against Ibrahim Mohamed Sama that may likely damage his character and caused apprehension and provocation to breach the peace.

Testifying in court,   Daniel Komba Momoh attached to the Cyber Crime Unit, Waterloo Police Station, recalled on the 13th April 2023.

 He said he was on duty when the report of cybercrime from Ibrahim Mohamed Sama was made.

He forwarded the messages in a Samsung Android phone A03. He analyzed the message and took a snap shot of it for inspection. They invited the accused person and obtained information from him.

The matter was adjourned to the 25th September, 2023.
