The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone has on Thursday, May 25, published the final voter register.
The Chairman and Chief Electoral Commissioner of Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Kenewui Konneh, said the commission was under intense pressure from civil society organisations and development partners to release the register.
“Right now you will access the final voter register if you visit our website. We have released it, detailing centre by centre registration,” he said.
Meanwhile, the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has been demanding that ECSL release the final voter register so as to ascertain the credibility of the elections.
The party issued out a 48-hour ultimatum and reiterated that the final voter register be released.
Konneh promised to conduct credible elections as the mandate of the commission dictates.
