2023 Elections: NURP navigates through presidential nomination

The National Unity Reconciliation Party, NURP, has joined other political parties to be officially certified by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone to participate the June 24th Presidential election.

Jonathan JPJ Sandy and Komba Mbawa were endorsed as presidential and vice presidential candidates respectively following a successful nomination process at the ECSL headquarters on Tower Hill, Freetown.

The nomination and endorsement of the NURP candidate came after four political parties, including the main opposition All Peoples Congress Party (APC), the ruling Sierra Leones Peoples Party (SLPP), the People Democratic Party (PDP) and the United Democratic Movement (UDM) were nominated.

The National Returning Officer, ECSL, Mohamed Konneh stated that upon the receipt of their nomination papers, he therefore declared Jonathan Sandy and Komba Mbawa qualified to contest for the presidential and vice presidential offices by Sierra Leone’s statutory declaration.

The newly nominated and certified presidential candidateof  NURP, Jonathan Sandy, stated that his party will try as much as they can to maintain peace and serenity during the June 24th presidential elections, noting that they will call on all their supporters to be peaceful and law abiding in order to maintain national cohesion.

The National Unity Reconciliation Party, NURP, is a newly formed party with its motto; Every Sierra Leoneans matters, and it seeks to aspire for the country’s highest office in the country. The party’s presidential candidate, Jonathan Sandy is very much determined and optimistic that they will win the June 24th presidential election in Sierra Leone.
