After spending two years in prison, Ibrahim Sesay (Alias), was on Friday sentenced to 6 years imprisonment at the Male Correctional Centre by Justice Musu Kamara of the High Court for manslaughter.

The convict was before Justice Sesay on one count of manslaughter contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

State prosecutor, Elizabeth Jalloh, alleged that the convict on the 18th August, 2021, at Thomas Drive, Orogu, Allen Town in Freetown, unlawfully killed Osman Jalloh.

After the charges were put to the convict, he pleaded guilty and subsequently convicted by Justice Kamara.

Justice Kamara recalled that on 18th August, 2021, the deceased was unlawfully killed by the accused person.

She said the convict didn’t waste the court time by pleading guilty to the charge when it was put to him.

Before sentencing him, Lawyer Komba Kanu from the Legal Aid Board made a plea of mitigation on behalf of the convict.

“In light of the pleas in mitigation by both the accused person and his counsel, and in view of his age 28th that he has three children, I hereby sentence you to six years imprisonment including times spent in remand”. She said
