World biggest energy companies to invest in Salone

Two of the world richest Energy Companies with factories in Dubai, India and China, have selected  Sierra Leone as one of the countries to invest in through the Ukpa Hansa Energy Solutions Limited, the Nigerian leading provider of solar generator rental for the residential, commercial and industrial sector company. 

Managing Director (MD) of Ukpa Hansa Energy Solution Limited, a subsidiary company of Hansa Energy Solutions in Dubai and China and the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) in India, Chief Ewie Aimienwauu, said the Hansa Energy Solutions LLC is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leading Energy Service Company that provides a broad range of energy solutions such as design and implementation of Green building consultancy and certifications, energy saving projects, energy audit, retrofitting, energy conservation, energy infrastructure outsourcing, power generator and energy supply, and risk management.

Chief Ewie said the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) in India is an Energy Service Company (ESCO) of the Government of India and it is the World largest public ESCO. In terms of wealth, EESL backed by its partners has more than $32 billion.

“Energy Efficiency Services Limited is the world largest public Energy Service Company with more than $32 billion,” Chief Ewei Said.

The Nigerian-born energy expert who is expected to be in Sierra Leone soon for a familiarisation visit with authorities, has assured Sierra Leone’s inclusion in the list of countries that would be enjoying cheaper, cleaner, safer, and sustainable energy across the globe to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 on sustainable energy through the establishment of his company in the country.

He said EESL Company is a 100% Indian government owned and a joint venture of the state Corporation and Powergrid owned by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited, Power Finance Corporation and Rural Electrification of the Ministry of Power in India. He added that EESL alone has a net worth of $380 million United States Dollars.

According to Chief Ewie, EESL has recently completed finance and execution of a number of energy efficiency projects and the installation of millions of LED light bulbs and street lights reducing carbon dioxide emission by 77 million kg across the globe. He said his company is specializing in assisting public and private sector clients in designing, installing and retrofitting mechanical and electrical equipment, including renewable technologies, and implementing progress that use less energy and improve building comfort while at the same time lowering the facility’s operating and maintenance costs. 

The Nigerian energy professional said upon launching in Sierra Leone, his company is going to partner with the government of Sierra Leone to avail from the extensive experience, technical know-how, and financial stability with the cooperation with both Hansa Energy Solutions in Dubai and the EESL in India.

“We provide a foolproof system to address Energy, Power Quality, Safety, Environment and management System Solutions with a long-term vision. We strive to implement sustainable and reliable recommendations for our clients to achieve global benchmark,” Chief Ewie Aimienwauu told Mr. Samuel Ben Turay, the company’s local representative in Sierra Leone. 

He noted that his company has seven key components of Energy Efficiency Program (CEEP) that Sierra Leone needs to save the country from energy costs such as: Energy audit, Energy Efficiency Retrofit, Solar farms with grid integration, Efficient Hybrid Renewable System, Training, Monitoring and Energy saving.

“Our Energy retrofit and Solar Hybrid Energy solution project is going to save the government of Sierra Leone from Billions of Leones,” he affirmed.

Parts of his company’s developmental projects in Sierra Leone is to provide training to a total of 800 unemployed male and female youths with Sales skills, Installation and Services for home system and solar mini-grade in different hazardous areas and rural communities, ensure a 65% reduction on the country’s energy cost and a 50% energy consumption cost from capital expenditure to operating cost.

“Our company has the strength to provide solar street lights in all the major roads in the country, install solar panels in all the 190 chiefdom headquarter town, install solar in all Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and Colleges and Schools in Sierra Leone,” Chief Ewie said. And added that these solar streetlights are lone standing with low maintenance and offer a service life of 11 years and 4 months each. They also have value added CCTV and WIFI for security surveillance and traffic to monitor the roads and environs.

He said his company is presently operating in fifteen (15) countries globally such as China, India, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, UK, and Kenya among the host, while Sierra Leone would be the sixteen (16) Countries the Hansa Energy Solution Limited is going to start operating.

He said the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Indian and the British governments are all ready to extend their investments in Sierra Leone to assist the country to join its counterpart in achieving the UN Goal 7 in clean, safe, and accessible energy together.
