Wikki Tourist vows to outshine RSLAF in Nigeria

February 14, 2017 By Sahr Morris Jnr

Players and Officials of Nigeria’s Wikki Tourist believe they are still in the act and can eliminate the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Force (RSLAF FC) 2017 Confederations of Africa Football (CAF) Cup.

The Nigeria’s representatives are on the verge of crashing out of the competition following a 2-0 defeat to the military boys of Sierra Leone in the first leg of their preliminary round tie on Sunday.

According to Omo Johnson, they knew well what was expected from them to make it to the next round.

“We will turn the table around by God’s grace, the problem with Wikki Tourist now isn’t that we are not playing well.We have a problem with luck in the team but that won’t be a hindrance when we host them (Forces) in Bauchi next weekend,” he said.

Assistant coach, Garba Ibrahim, said present day football did not have so much advantage at home or away.

“We have seen more of our opponent and we hope to do the needful in the second leg. I am very confident that we shall turn the table around in Bauchi and make  it to the next round,” Ibrahim said.

Goals from Sam Kabba and Ibrahim Sillah gave the home side a 2-0 home win and the Nigerians needed three goals or more, thus forcing the Sierra Leoneans from not scoring to qualify to the next round of the tournament.
