Shandong Steel in legal duel

Shandon Iron and Steel Group Co Ltd, a Chinese multi-national  company operating in the Port Loko District, Northern Sierra Leone, is currently engaged in a legal duel with one Gibrilla Kalokoh in a Freetown magistrate court.

Kalokoh is alleged to have stolen railway materials valued US$137,480.

The accused, who is before Magistrate Mohamed Santigie Bangura for preliminary investigation, was docked on two count charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and felony contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

The prosecution is claiming that the accused on dates between 16th June and 6th July 2018, along the Shadong Steel Railway Line at Maforki Chiefdom in the Port Loko District conspired with unknown individuals to commit a felonious offence.

The prosecution further claims that the accused, on the same dates stole a quantity of rail bars, meta rail shippers and rail chips to the total monetary of US$137,480.
