UNFPA Rep pays courtesy call on ministers

The new UNFPA Representative to Sierra Leone, Dr Kim Dickson, who succeeded Dr Bannet Ndyanabangi, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Abubakarr Fofanah, at his Youyi Building office on Monday,27 June, 2016.

Welcoming the UNFPA representative, Dr Fofanah assured Dr Dickson of  government’s  continuous willingness to working  with UNFPA, which he said had been very supportive of their programmes, especially in its stride towards safe deliveries and reduction in infant and maternal mortality in the country.

In her response, the UNFPA Rep commended the government for taking the lead in the fight against the Ebola Virus Disease and overcoming the outbreak, as well as the Post-Ebola Recovery Plan.

She re-assured the minister of UNFPA’s commitment to partner with government and the people of Sierra Leone on one hand, and other partners on the other hand.

Dr. Kim Dickson paid similar visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, where she was received by Minister of State ll, Ms. Isatu Kabia.

She also visited Youth Minister, Bai Mamoud Bangura, at his National Stadium Hostel office, where she informed the minister of their support to his ministry and young people of Sierra Leone.

She also visited Statistics Sierra Leone,where she was given an update on the just concluded 2015 Housing and Population  Census.
