Sierra Leone’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations clash with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Saturday October 11 will be officiated by Ugandan referees.
The central man, Denis Batte, will be accompanied by countryman Hussein Bugembe as his first assistant, and Lee Okello his second assistant, whilst the fourth official, Louis Laryea, is a Ghanaian national. The Match Commissioner, Mahamat Abdoulaye Lawandji, is from Chad.
The Ugandan central man was promoted to international refereeing and recognized by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in 2007. The Sierra Leone-Cameroon tie will be his third game in this qualifying campaign and his first in the group stage.
Batte’s first two were in the second and third rounds, respectively Mozambique and Sudan on May 18, 2014, and Mozambique-Tanzania on August 3rd 2014. During these two meetings, the official only released a single yellow card in the first game.
Already, the Ugandan trio had jetted into Cameroon yesterday (Thursday) just a day after the arrival of the fourth official from Ghana.
