Alimamy Petito Koroma, former Flagbearer race contender under the ticket of the All People’s Congress (APC) Party to his supporters of the 2017and 2023 Flagbearer position of the APC.
Alimamy Petito Koroma was Secretary General for the Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL) before joining active politics in 2007. He was appointed by former President Koroma as the Minister of Trade and Industry, Minister of Works, Housing and Infrastructure, Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China and Special Adviser to the President.
Koroma later resigned his ambassadorial position and opted for the Presidential aspirant under the ticket of the All People’s Congress Party in 2018, and again on last month but didn’t succeed.
“I started a journey with you some six years ago – State House being our destination. We worked hard, walked fast and we have come thus far but have not yet arrived at our State House destination,” Petito wrote.
He thanked his supporters for believing in him and for journeying with him, adding that he was hopeful both in 2017 and 2023 to clinch the Flagbearer position of the APC.
“We have not succeeded yet,” he wrote, adding “but we can proudly say that we fought a good fight we finished the race and we kept the faith. We have in store for us the crown that the Lord will award to us on that day! That day will one day and surely come! Remember “The race is neither for the swift, nor the battle for the strong but for those who endure to the end.”
Petito informed his supporters that even as is not Flagbearer, he had wholeheartedly accepted the situation that the party now has a Flagbearer in the person of Dr Samura Kamara.
He further noted that he had officially congratulated Dr Samura Kamara and assured him of his support to him and the party so he wins, the party wins and everyone wins the 2023 elections.
He called his campaign team and his supporters to fully engage alongside him in his endeavor.
“I pray we do so with all might and determination. There is now only one race to run-the APC race, one campaign- The Samura Kamara/APC Campaign! We all have roles to play. Let’s play them well and victory is sure to come,” he assured.
He pledged and guaranteed his loyalty and support to the APC and all its candidates for the 2023 elections.
