‘The accused stabbed me in the neck’

-Victim told Magistrate

One Ibrahim Kinston Kamara yesterday (22nd June, 2017) told Magistrate Dr. Abou Bhakarr Binneh-Kamara that it was the accused, Osman Sheriff, that stabbed him in the neck and left foot.

“The accused use broken bottle to stab me in my neck and when I fell down, he also stabbed me on my left foot,” he said.

Kamara was testifying in the ongoing wounding matter between him and one Osman Sheriff.

He explained that he was at home on 21st May, 2017, during a naming ceremony when the accused person and his brother entered their compound with broken bottle in hands and acted rudely.

Kamara said he was frightened about the situation and confronted the accused person and his brother, noting that the latter used the broken bottle to stab him on his leg and left foot.

He further explained that he was in pain and bled profusely,  adding that he reported the matter to Eastern Police station and later went to Connaught Hospital, where he was examined and given twelve stiches and later made statement to the police.

The accused was charged with five counts of conspiracy, wounding with intent, wounding, assault and abusive language contrary to the laws of Sierra Leones.

The prosecution alleges that on 21st May, 2017 at Howe Street in Freetown, Osman Sheriff conspired with other persons unknown and wounded, assaulted and used abusive languages on Ibrahim Kinston Kamara.

The matter was adjourned to 7th July, 2017.
