Magistrate Dr. Abou Bhakar Binneh-Kamara has on Monday (10th July, 2017) committed to High Court of Justice five accused persons for allegedly killing one Tom Davies Junior in Tengbeh town, west of Freetown.

“I have been through the evidence and satisfied that the accused person do have questions to answer pursuant to the offence charged. I therefore commit the matter to High Court of Justice for further trail,” Magistrate Binneh-Kamara ordered.

Sinneh Sesay, Abu Bakar Sesay, Sherrif G Sesay, Alhaji D Conteh and Ibrahim were charged on two counts of conspiracy and murder contrary to law.

The prosecution had alleged that the accused persons on Thursday 30th March, 2017 at Upper Tengbeh town conspired with other persons to commit a felony to wit murder and on the same date murdered one Tom Davies Jr.

Earlier, the second Prosecution Witness (PW2), Detective Police Constable 12079 Abdul T Bah, attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) recognised the accused persons and the complainant (Tom Davies Snr).

He recalled that on the day of the incident, he was on duty at the Congo Cross police Station and  received what he called a ‘distress’ phone call from concerned citizens, who  informed him about an alleged murder at upper Tengbeh town.

He said a team of CID officers, general duty officers and operational personnel went to the scene and discovered an alleged stabbed male victim which was later conveyed to Connaught hospital.

PW2 said he cautioned and questioned the accused persons and later charged them with the offences of conspiracy and murder.
