A teacher, Mohamed Mansaray, 27, was last Friday granted twenty million Leones bail and two sureties who shall be gainfully employed and reside in Western area.
Mansaray made his second appearance before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie to answer to the offence of Sexual Penetration of a child contrary to Section 19 of Sexual Offence Act of 2012.
The particulars of offence stated that the accused person on 17th April, 2017, at Lower Allen town, sexually penetrated a girl below eighteen years to wit fifteen (15) years.
In her evidence in chief, the victim said she recognized the accused as her uncle.
She explained that on the day of the incident, the accused took her along with her friend and the younger sister of the accused person to an unfinished building and later asked the others to return as he wanted to talk to the victim in camera.
The girl stated that the accused person later told her that he loved her and that he wanted to have sex with her, adding that she told him that she has never done such.
According to her, the accused convinced her into having sexual intercourse with her.
The victim said she later went home and told her stepmother about her encounter and the latter explained to her (the victim) father who later reported the matter to Calaba town police post.
The accused person was represented by Lawyer M. Korie and the matter was prosecuted by Inspector Hawa Bah.
In a related development, one Sufian Sesay was also remanded for the offence of sexual penetration.
Police alleges that the accused person on 17th June, 2017, at No.4 Hagan Street in Freetown, penetrated a girl under eighteen years to wit twelve.
Testifying before the Court, the victim recognized the accused person and stated that they were living in the same house.
She explained that on the day of the incident, she was at home when the accused person took her inside his room and asked her to take-off her clothes.
The girl said the accused person later removed his trousers and had sexual intercourse with her.
She told the court that she experienced blood started oozing from her after the accused finished having sex with her.
She added that when she arrived home, she informed her aunt about the incident and that the said aunt later told her (the victim’s) mother while they reported the matter at the Eastern Police Division.
In a related matter, one Emmanuel Bayoh was committed to the High Court of Justice by Magistrate Hannah Bonnie for the offence of sexual penetration contrary to law.
“I have looked at the case and the evidence before me. I have seen that the accused person has a case to answer and I therefore commit this matter to High Court of Justice,” she ordered.
Police alleges that on Wednesday 28th December, 2016, at Looking town, Grafton, the accused person sexually penetrated a girl below eighteen years to wit sixteen.
The matter was prosecuted by Police Constable 9155 Macarthy Dwight.
