Son  jailed for attempting to kill mother

Twenty six years old Ibrahim Eric Bam Kallon has been remanded for allegedly attempting to kill his biological mother, Gladys Yioba (Kadiatu).

The accused person was before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Court No.2 on the allegation of attempted murder contrary to Section 14 of the Offence against the Person Acts of 1816.

The police alleges that the accused person on Sunday 9th April, 2017, at 5C Upper Consider Lane, Calaba town, poisoned chocolate drink with acid, intending to murder Gladys Yioba (his mother).

He was not allowed to take a plea.

Meanwhile, the accused was denied bail and sent on remand at the Male Correctional Centre.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Constable 9559 Leslie Pratt and the matter was adjourned to 29th August, 2017.

In the same court, Magistrate Bonnie also remanded one Benjamin Sandy, 16 and Alimamy Kamara, 17 for the offences of conspiracy and larceny contrary to law.

The particulars of offence stated that the accused persons on 27th August, 2017, conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit larceny.

28 Syke Street entered into a dwelling house of Fatmata Turay and stole therein the sum of one million, two hundred and fifty thousand Leones.

However, the accused persons were remanded at the Kingtom Remand Home while the matter was transferred to the Juvenile court at Pademba Road

The matter was adjourned to 31st August, 2017.
