The Sierra Leone Road Authority (SLRA) has commenced the rehabilitation of the Moyamba-Njagbahun Junction road which is in a terrible state.
According to the Paramount Chief of Lower Banta Chiefdom, Moyamba district, John Jibao Rosell Nyama, the road rehabilitation is courtesy of an appeal he had made to both Sierra Rutile mining company and SLRA board Chairman, Arthur Harvey, following calls by civil society members and journalists for the main road leading to the district headquarters to be rehabilitated.
“I wasted no time but directly went and made the request to both Sierra Rutile and the Board Chairman of SLRA for their timely intervention,” P.C. Nyama said.
He revealed that Mr. Harvey had asked the SLRA Director General to include the Moyamba-Njagbahun Road on the list of road earmarked to be rehabilitated this year.
Many people in Moyamba district have lavished praises on the Paramount Chief of Lower Banta for his patriotic gesture.
Chairman of the Moyamba District Council, Professor Herbert Bob-Kandeh was full of praise for the traditional ruler, thanking him for spearheading the advocating for the road to bed rehabilitated.
