Sierra Leone Players Abroad:

Sesay makes Barnet debut

January 19, 2016 By Sahr Morris Jr.

Sierra Leone defender, Alie Sesay, made his debut for English League Two side Barnet on Saturday in their goalless draw at home with Carlisle United.

The 21-year-old defender, who signed an 18-month contract with the League Two outfit, was introduced in the 58th minute as he replaced Hackett.

Sesay is a former captain for Leicester City’s under-21 side. He has made two appearances for the Leone Stars and was in the Sierra Leone side that kept a clean sheet against Cameroon during a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

He appeared three times while on loan at League One club Colchester United in 2014 and six times on loan at Cambridge United earlier this season.

His new side Barnet are currently 17th in the league standings and they face a tough contest against Stevenage in their next match.

In Italy, midfielder Rodney Strasser came off the bench to help his Italian Liga Pro side, Lupa Castelli Romani, to a 2-2 draw with Ischia.

In the Scottish Premier League, Mustapha Dumbuya made another full time appearance for Patrick Thistle but they suffered a 2-4 defeat at home in the hands of Dundee.
