Sierra Leone Players Abroad:

‘Teteh’ Bangura set for Sweden return

July 21, 2015 By Sahr Morris Jr.

The agent of Sierra Leone striker Ibrahim ‘Teteh’ Bangura has confirmed that the player is set for a return to the Allsvenskan (the Swedish topflight league).

Despite confirming the striker’s possible return on, agent Patrick Mork refused to identify a particular club which the former AIK Solna goal-getter will join.

“Bangura is on his way to Sweden and to an Allsvenskan club. Right now he is waiting to secure his visa,” Mork said. “I can tell you that he might join AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby.”

The 25-year-old striker has been out of football action for over two months due to a knee injury but his agent confirmed the player is now fully fit and ready to return to the game.

He said: “I know he had a tough time with injury but that is the past now as he is fully fit and ready for action.”

Teteh Bangura made the headlines in Sweden during the 2011/12 league season when he scored 15 goals in 16 matches for AIK. He was then sold to Turkish side Bursaspor for €3.3m thus becoming the club’s most expensive recruitment by then.

During his first season with Bursaspor, the Sierra Leone international scored only six goals from 24 matches. Injury hampered his career with the Turkish outfit and was later sent out on loan to Sanlıurfaspor in Turkey, and Beitar Jerusalem in Israel.
