Sierra Leone Players Abroad:

Kamara duo hit brace in cup tie

Sierra Leone strikers, Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara and Alhaji ‘Andriano’ Kamara, both scored a brace for their clubs Örebro and Norrköping respectively over the weekend in the Swedish Cup (The Svenska Cupen) opening matches.

‘Crespo’ Kamara’s Örebro were forced to a 3-3 draw by Varberg but the former FC Kallon striker scored his side’s first and second goals in the match. His first came in the 16th minute before the visitors drew level in the 37th minute through Nyström.

The Sierra Leone forward restored Örebro’s lead in the 61st minute but Nigeria striker Peters levelled the score line for Varberg. Nordmark put Örebro in the lead again in the 63rd minute but four minutes later, the visitors forced the match to a 3-3 draw courtesy of Swedish striker A. Kujović’s strike.

Also in Sweden, Alhaji ‘Andriano’ Kamara scored twice to help Norrkoping secure a 0-4 away victory over Norrby. ‘Andriano’ Kamara’s goals came in 45th and 71st minute of play.

Again in Sweden, Mohamed ‘Poborsky’ Bangura – who came off the bench in the 63rd minute – scored AIK’s final goal in their 4-0 thumping of Landskrona.

In the Azerbaijan topflight league, Gibrilla Julius Woobay played full time for Neftçi FC who suffered a 0-1 home defeat to Qarabağ, while countryman Alfred ‘Zagalo’ Sankoh returned to the Khazar Lankaran squad which also suffered a 3-1 away defeat to Qabala.

In the English League One, right-back Mustapha Dumbuya’s Notts County side lost 2-1 to Fleetwood Town and the Sierra Leone international played for 67 minutes before he was replaced by White.

In the English League Two, Sullay Kaikai was introduced in the 62nd minute in Cambridge United’s 2-6 defeat to Portsmouth.

In the Portuguese second tier, the Segunda, defender Ibrahim ‘Obreh’ Kargbo played full time for Atlético CP as they defeated Academico Viseu 0-1 away.

However, Greuther Fürth winger George Kweku Davies, Livorno midfielder Rodney Strasser and Balıkesirspor midfielder Khalifa Jabbie were all left out of their respective squads’ weekend fixtures.
