Kamara eyes successive win with Lamia
DECEMBER 17, 2014
Sierra Leone midfielder, John Kamara, is eyeing a seventh successive win with his Greece second tier league side PAS Lamia as they host 11th place Tyrnavos today (Wednesday) in the OPAP National Football League.
Lamia, who has recorded 22 points from eight matches, will be looking to extend their three-point lead over second place Iraklis, who faces Zakynthos also today.
PAS Lamia registered their sixth successive win last Saturday away to Zakynthos, thanks to a 32nd minute goal from Gurma. Kamara played in the midfield for the whole 90 minutes.
In Turkey, midfielder Khelifa Jabbie’s Balikesirspor side continues their poor run in the Turkish topflight league as the promoted side suffered their fifth straight defeat to another promoted side, Istanbul Başakşehir 1-0.
Jabbie played for 76 minutes before he was replaced by Celik immediately after he was shown a yellow card.
In the Portuguese second tier league, the Segunda Liga, Ibrahim ‘Obreh’ Kargbo helped Atlético CP to a 2-1 home win over Santa Clara. Kargbo played full time in a right-back role as they moved a place above the relegation zone despite seeing two of their players – goalkeeper Labuts and Almeida – sent off for double yellow cards.
