Sierra Leone Players Abroad:

Khelifa Jabbie makes injury return

DECEMBER 10, 2014 By Shar Morris Jr.

Sierra Leone’s Turkey-based midfielder, Khelifa Jabbie, made his return to the Balikesirspor first team squad last Friday in their 0-1 home defeat to Fenerbahçe in the Turkish topflight, the Süper Lig.

The former FC Kallon midfielder has been missing in action for the relegation threatened side for the past three weeks due to shoulder injury and on his return, he was left out on the bench during their 1-3 defeat to Sivasspor and the 4-0 loss to Kayseri Erciyesspor respectively.

However, despite making his first start and playing throughout the 90 minutes, Jabbie could not help his side escape another home defeat to Fenerbahçe, who are presently third in the log, whilst Balikesirspor sits at the foot of the table with just five points from 12 matches.

In the Azerbaijan Premier League, midfielder Alfred ‘Zagalo’ Sankoh played full time for Khazar Lankaran as they secured a 3-0 home win over Qabala. But Gibrilla Woobay missed his side, Neftçi’s goalless draw with Qarabağ due to an injury he picked up during last weekend’s league match.

In the Portuguese second tier league, the Segunda, defender Ibrahim ‘Obreh’ Kargbo played full time for Atlético CP as they forced Porto II to a 1-1 draw. However, Kargbo was cautioned by the referee in the 45th minute as he picked up a yellow card.

In England, the nightmare continues for Sierra Leone and Bolton midfielder, Mohamed ‘Medo’ Kamara, who was again ignored by coach Neil Lennon from the Bolton squad that forced Reading to a goalless draw. Also, winger Abdulai Bell-Baggie was left out of the Tranmere Rovers’ squad that forced Oxford United to an FA Cup replay following their 2-2 draw.
