Shooting Stars to face Ghana after eliminating Guinea

The visitors, who gained full control of the game from the first to the last minute, took advantage of a mistake by the opposing defense to score the only goal of the game before the break by Ibrahim Conteh.

After the match, Shooting Stars captain, Ishmael Jaw-Jaw Koroma dedicated their win to all Sierra Leoneans as their gift for the Independence anniversary.

The skipper said: “We dedicate the victory to all Sierra Leoneans around the world as we celebrate our 53rd Independence anniversary.”

Sierra Leone will now face a more difficult opponent, Ghana, next month in the next round of qualifiers. Meanwhile, Malawi also qualified to the second round of the tournament after eliminating Botswana 2-1 away from home.

The Junior Flames secured a 2-1 away win from home to advance 3-1 on aggregate. The final tournament will take place from 8-22 March 2015 in Senegal with the semi-finalists qualifying to represent Africa at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
