Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars, will miss five of its professional players for this weekend’s 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Swaziland in Mbabane due to problems not limited to injury and illness.

Italy-based midfielder Rodney Strasser will miss out due to illness, while Turkey-based striker Mohamed ‘Poborsky’ Bangura and Sweden-based striker, Alhaji ‘Adriano’ Kamara have both been ruled out due to injury.

Also, David Simbo has been ruled out due to international assignment with his Sudanese club, Al Hilal, while China-based defender, Gibrilla Sankoh aka ‘Barrell’, is said to have refused to honour coach Johnny McKinstry’s call, saying he will not play under his reign.

The quintet were among 13 foreign-based players invited for the first round first leg encounter by coach McKinstry.

Meanwhile, nine players including Middlesbrough’s Kei Ansu Kamara and Turkey-based duo – Khalifa Jabbie and Alfred ‘Zagallo’ Sankoh – were part of the delegation that departed the country on Wednesday

Six other foreign-based players – Solomon Zombo Morris, Umaru ‘Zaingallay’ Bangura, Ibrahim ‘Marcel’ Koroma, Ibrahim Kallay, Abdulai Bell Baggie and Michael Lahoud – are expected to fly out to Johannesburg from their respective locations to meet up with the delegation flying from Freetown.
