Sierra Leone striker, Kei Kamara, just cannot stop scoring in the U.S. Major League Soccer (MLS) as the forward last Sunday registered his 25th goal of the season in all competitions to help Columbus Crew secure a 2-0 win over New York Red Bulls.
Kamara’s 85 minutes strike sealed the win for Crew in the first leg of their MLS Conference finals after Justin Meram’s nine seconds goal gave the home side an early lead
In Azerbaijan, left-back Sheriff Suma was the only Sierra Leonean player in action over the weekend as his Rəvan side secured a 1-0 win over Zira. In Belarus, Leone Stars captain Umaru Bangura enjoyed full time action for Dynamo Minsk in their 1-2 away win over Gomel.
In the Cypriot topflight league, striker Mustapha ‘Haji’ Bangura, picked-up a yellow card in the 53rd minutes in his side Omonia 0-1 away defeat to Aris, and enjoyed only 58 minutes of action.
In the English League One, striker Sullay Kaikai made a full time returned to action for Shrewsbury Town but his comeback from injury could not help the Town as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletics.
Another Sierra Leonean who enjoyed full time action was right-back Mustapha Dumbuya whose Partick Thistle moved to 10th position in the Scottish league table with a 2-1 home win over Inverness CT.
In Holland, defender Gibril Sankoh played full time in Roda JC 0-5 thrashing to PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie league, whilst in Turkey midfielder Alfred ‘Zagalo’ Sankoh’s Balikesirspor’s were forced to a goalless draw by Altınordu on Monday night.
