Salone, Liberia recognized in Amputee World Cup

DECEMBER 4, 2014 By Sahr Morris Jr.

Despite the Sierra Leone and Liberia national amputee football teams not being part of the ongoing 2014 Amputee Football World Cup in Sinaloa, Mexico, the teams were both recognized by the organizers of the tournament.

The two nations were not seen on the football pitch in Sinaloa, but their national colours were paraded during the opening ceremony of the tournament.

Earlier, the World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) confirmed that both Sierra Leone and Liberia will not be participating in the 2014 World Cup due to the Ebola outbreak that is ravaging both nations.
