Rodney Strasser to join Atletico Club de Portugal on loan

January 25, 2016 By Sahr Morris Jr.

Sierra Leonean midfielder, Rodney Strasser, is on his way to join Portugese second tier league side Atletico Club de Portugal on loan from Genoa.

According to several reports from the Italian media, the former AC Milan midfielder will possibly join the Segunda Liga club this weekend after he was withdrawn from his loan spell with the Italian Liga Pro club Lupa Castelli Romani.

With both Genoa and Atletico Club de Portugal yet to make an official pronouncement of the deal on their websites, Italian based website GianlucaDiMarzio.com and Portuguese online news outlet record.xl.pt have both reported that a move is already on and about to be completed.

GianlucaDiMarzio.com reported: “New adventure on the horizon for Rodney Strasser, a midfielder from Sierra Leone who was born in 1990, currently at Lupa Castelli Romani on loan from Genoa. His bag’s already packed for Portugal, to join the waiting Segunda Liga club, Atletico Club de Portugal. It’s going to be a new challenge for the former AC Milan player.”

The Record stated on their report: “Rodney Strasser should be advertised as strengthening force for Athletic in the coming hours. The loan agreement with the Genoa club is almost closed and there is agreement the player travels to Lisbon.”

The move to Portugal is reported to be an opportunity for the player to get more playing time having played fewer games during his spell with the Italia Liga Pro club Lupa Castelli Romani.
