Randa Skeiky, a Lebanese, has appeared before the Principle Magistrate of the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1, Magistrate Sahr Kekura for the offense of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She stands accused of allegedly wounding Mariam Conteh and she was charged with two counts of wounding contrary to Section 20 of the Offence Against the Person Act 1861 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
According to the charge sheet, the accused on Friday 25 June, 2021, at Carlton Carew Drive, Off Wilkinson Road in Freetown, maliciously wounded Mariam Conteh.
The charge sheet further states that the accused on the same date and place, assaulted the complainant in a manner occasioning her actual bodily harm.
The accused pleaded not guilty immediately after the allegations were put to her.
Defense counsel, C. Pujeh made an application for bail on behalf of the accused, stating that she has reliable sureties to stand on her behalf and assured that she will not interfere with the prosecution’s witnesses.
Magistrate Kekura granted the accused bail and matter come up on 16 November, 2021.
