Pupil, 21, jailed for alleged kidnapping

Magistrate Albert Moody of Freetown Court No.1 has remanded twenty- one year old Ibrahim Jalloh on allegation of attempted child kidnapping.

The accused was arraigned on one count of attempted kidnapping contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

Police alleged that Ibrahim Jalloh on Tuesday, 1st August, 2017, at Bottom Mango-Wilberforce, attempted to kidnap fourteen -year Ramesh Pamnani.

The matter was prosecuted by Inspector Hawa Bah and it  was adjourned for further hearing.

In another matter, Agness Kailie, Hawa Sesay, Nelson Gbassah, Mariah Sesay and Memuna Kamara were also remanded to Male and Female Correctional Centres respectively for alleged possession of drugs without reasonable excuse.

The five accused persons were before the court on two count charges of contravention of requirement under section 17 of the Pharmacy and Drug Act of 2001.

The particulars of offence stated that the first accused person (Agnes Kailie) on Wednesday 18th October, 2017, at Mountain Cut, was found in possession  of pharmaceutical drugs to wit quantity of ferrous Sulphate and Vitamin C tablet without license or reasonable excuse.

It also stated that all the accused persons on the above date and place were found in possession of Ukaam, Mihigrip, Mebendazole, amoxicillin and other drugs without license or reasonable excuse.

All accused were not granted bail and the matter was adjourned.
