The Sierra Leone Police on Thursday, 14th October, informed the public about the launch of their ‘Operation Restore Order,’ to bring sanity to Freetown and other parts of the country.
Director of Operations of the Sierra Leone Police, AIG Amadu Mannah, said the operation has already stared in Freetown and will be replicated in the provincial districts.
He noted that there was a lot of disorderly behaviour in Freetown and other parts of the country, and that that the new operation will ensure that every street trader within Freetown be evicted.
He noted that the operation commenced October 8th and will last until 7th November, 2021, adding that every area occupied by traders would be cleared.
He said they would ensure that they restore orders across the city and other parts of the country.
He said since they launched the operations they have seen a lot of improvements in some parts of the country, citing Lumley where he said they have successfully cleared the traffic.
