Police interrogate, release editor

August 24, 2016 By Patrick Jaiah Kamara

Police at the Criminal Investigation Department yesterday interrogated the editor of Future Newspaper, Moisa Sallu Keikura, after he showed up late for a parliamentary summon.

In a letter dated 17 August, 2016 the editor had requested an interview with the Clerk of Parliament over allegations of misappropriation of Le120 billion, which was granted.

But he reportedly failed to honour the interview date on the grounds that he had received the letter late.

Yesterday, parliament again summoned him for a meeting with Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Ibrahim Bundu, relating the content of another letter dated 12 August, 2016 which was deemed insulting and disrespectful.

However, he was released after police obtained statement from him on allegations of contempt of parliament and ordered that he returns to the CID headquarters at 11 a.m. today.
