Sierra Leone striker Mohamed ‘Poborsky’ Bangura continues his injury rehabilitation with former Swedish club AIK Solna.
The 25-year-old forward, who has been sideline with injury for over two months, is currently on rehabilitation, less than two months after surgery and he was recently spotted at the training ground of his former club, AIK.
The Swedish club has confirmed on its website that that the former Celtic striker is with them on trial workout as he is closer to a full return from injury with an option to have the player back with the Stockholm-based club.
“Mohamed comes today from a rehab period, but is reportedly ready for full training. He was a fantastic footballer for AIK, and now we will together explore the possibility that the conditions are that he can play for us again,” says sports director Bjorn Wesström on the club’s website.
It has been a rough road for the Sierra Leone forward since leaving AIK in 2011 as his adventure in Celtic ended in a debacle and was loaned to Elfsborg before he later joined then Turkish first division club Istanbul BB – helping them gain Premier League promotion.
He later departed the Turkish side as a free agent in order to recover from a knee surgery and had his first rehabilitation period with Huddinge.
The former FC Kallon striker was recently linked with a move to Iranian Persepolis FC but the player could consider a return to AIK.
