Ibrahim Kamara, 32, was on Monday 2 February remanded at the male correctional centre on Pademba Road for an alleged sexual penetration of two toddlers aged 3 and 6 years respectively.
The alleged pedophile was arraigned at the Freetown Magistrates’ Court No.2 presided over by Magistrate Albert J. Moody on two counts of sexual penetration contrary to Section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act of 2012.
According to the prosecution, the accused was caught in the act of sexually molesting the toddlers on Friday, 9 January 2015 at Hagan Street in Mabella, a slum community east of Freetown.
According to the victims’ parents, the accused was caught penetrating the six-year-old girl, while also using his finger on her three-year-old sibling.
Police prosecutor Inspector Conteh S. applied for an adjournment in order to assemble his witnesses and prepare them for cross-examination.
In a related development in the same court, Magistrate Moody also remanded one Jonathan Nyuma at the male correctional centre on Pademba Road for an alleged sexual penetration of a girl, 11.
The prosecution alleged that the accused sexually penetrated his victim on Tuesday, 2 December 2014 at Pipe Line, Babadorie, Lumley, west of Freetown.
Magistrate Moody refused the accused bail and urged the prosecutor to produce witnesses in order to expedite the matter.
