…vow Regional Chairmen
NOVEMBER 25, 2014 By Sahr Morris Jr.
Chairman of the Western Area Football Association (WAFA), Abdul Kanasieu and Eastern Region Football Association Chairman (ERFA), Morrison Sannoh have said that no form of detraction and intimidation from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) will prevent them from staging an extra-ordinary congress come December 20 this year.
Football stakeholders recently informed the Football Association of their proposed December congress and in reply, it was alleged that the SLFA scribe, Chris Kamara, used insulting comments against the stakeholders including labelling them as “fake stakeholders”.
However, WAFA boss Kanasieu said he was not surprised about such a reply coming from the SLFA General Secretary, stating that no amount of distraction will prevent them from going ahead with the congress.
He said: “Chris Kamara’s attitude does not in any way surprise me because he is not working for the FA but rather for her madam, Isha Johansen. So he is doing everything to please her. But no amount of their distraction tactics will prevent us from holding our proposed congress.”
An irate ERFA chairman, Morrison Sannoh, described the SLFA scribe as “a disgrace to football” and that “it was a big mistake in appointing him as General Secretary of the FA”. He said they as stakeholders have vowed never to work with Kamara “because of his lack of respect for us”.
“It is just a matter of time for us to convene a congress and he will know who exactly we are,” said Mr. Sannoh. “This is total insult to us for branding people like Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay, Alhassan Kanu, and Idrissa ‘Mago’ Tarawallie as fake stakeholders.”
