In addition to the recent donation of Le100,000,000 (one hundred million Leones) to the Government of Sierra Leone, and making available, to MSF France, 80 acres of land and four newly constructed houses along the Bo-Kenema highway, NASSIT has also now extended its support to the Office of the First Lady in the fight against the dreaded Ebola Viral Disease in Sierra Leone.
This time around, the management of NASSIT under the leadership of Mr. Joseph Sedu Mans Jr. has offered to the government and people of Sierra Leone, through the Office of the First Lady, six of its newly constructed apartment blocks, and the stretch of land situated along the Koyagbema Section in the city of Kenema.
The six self-contained houses, which have been offered on a free-of cost basis until the end of Ebola, will be used for residential purposes by those patriotic nurses and other health workers who have volunteered to lead the fight against the disease in Sierra Leone.
According to NASSIT’s Acting Director General, Mr. Joseph Sedu Mans Jr., the management and staff of the social security scheme are very proud to be able to support the government and people of Sierra Leone at such a crucial period in our country’s history.
With the provision of the said facilities, Mr. Mans Jr. explained, NASSIT is hopeful that the current stigma against nurses will be minimized, and more health workers will feel motivated to join the fight against Ebola in Sierra Leone.
