An impeccable source at the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, yesterday told Concord Times that one Fatmata Tucker will today be charged on one count of murder, contrary to law, for allegedly murdering her estranged boyfriend, Saidu Bangura at the Suffian Guest House, near the Freetown International Airport at Lungi.
According to our source, investigation into the alleged murder on Sunday 6 April 2014 has been concluded and the suspect is due in the magistrate court today for the start of preliminary investigation. If a prima facie case is established by the prosecution, the matter will be committed to the High Court, and upon conviction the accused may get a life sentence or serve considerable years in prison.
The suspect, our source said, was arrested by the police at the airport and brought to the CID headquarters in Freetown for thorough investigation, after allegedly slashing the throat of her boy friend, a telecommunication engineer, who was en route Somalia, where he worked with the United Nations Mission in Somalia.
