MoneyGram feeds Muslims

Agents of MoneyGram service in Sierra Leone on Friday (June 2) provided cooked food and drinks Muslims who observed Ramadan at the Jamiul Sheriff Mosque, Circular Road in Freetown.

Worshippers at the mosque were able to eat delicious meal after the Magrib prayer.

According to N’fa Alie Koroma from Premier Media Consultancy, the marketing outfit of the MoneyGram service, they wanted to associate themselves with the Muslim community, during the holy month of Ramadan.

“MoneyGram always believes  in sharing, which is why we decided to provide food for those who are fasting . This Iftar is being done in other countries to help Muslims to break their fast. We want all of us to share the blessings of this holy month of Ramadan,” he said.

Also, he stated that the MoneyGram Ramadan promotion, which has been ongoing since May 25, 2017, was designed to show appreciation to those that are fasting during the holy month.

He added that when someone sends or receives money from anywhere in the world, using the agents in the country, the person would be entitled to a packet of rice.

“Also, those sending above $200 during this month will stand the chance of winning sheep, gallons of oil, bags of onions and rice, among others. The promotion has been ongoing since 25 May, this year and will run until the end of Ramadan,” he said.

With regard the service, Mr. Koroma stated that MoneyGram was everywhere in the world and that it is one of the money transfer agency that is reliable, convenient and easy to send and receive money anywhere in the world within ten minutes.

He encouraged all and sundry to continue using the service in the country, while disclosing plans to replicate the Iftar in other mosques across the country
