By Haja Humu Barrie

The chairman of Blackpool Football club, Rodney Michael at the launch of SWASAL’s official website, logo and special edition of Sports World Newspaper at the SLAJ headquarters, has appealed to the law makers of Sierra Leone to revisit tax laws and form policies that would entice cooperate entities to support sports in Sierra Leone.

During the launch Rodney Michael made reference of his team’s struggle to get sponsorship from cooperate bodies since March .He said he reached out to 27 companies and only one has accepted their proposal.

”If Blackpool one of the oldest clubs in the country is struggling what is to become of the younger clubs?Michael lamented

With that being said he pleaded with the bodies responsible for law making to revisit revenue laws and also enforce polices that would encourage companies to sponsor and develop sports in Sierra Leone as these sponsorships would create space for revenue generation in sports

Rodney furthered that he is impressed with SWASAL as they have made a great move coming up with this initiative as this web site would be a stepping stone in developing sports in Sierra Leone

He gave a brief background of how the Sahr Morris Jurnior led SWASAL executive came to him and explained about their plan his fear was them actualizing it but they where ready and knew what they wanted and they have actually achieved it to today and he applaud them for that.He further advised for them to maintain this website and other sporting disciplines with websites to maintain their websites and also make these websites accessible to sponsors in other for them to promote their products and services
