Thirty-year-old worker of Masada Waste Management Company, Fengai Kabbah, was killed last Friday (26 September) in a gruesome road accident along the Lumley Beach Road.

The accident involved a DAF C7-430 series waste garbage collection truck belonging to Masada Company with registration numbers AHY 276, and it happened while the truck was trying to collect an empty trash container at the beach.

According to an eyewitness named Joe Crack, the deceased met his gruesome death as he was directing the driver to a good parking space.

He said the deceased had barely alighted from the garbage truck when the reversing truck ran over him and smashed his head.

Yayah Turay, who is the driver of the truck, said the deceased was his close friend in the work place and that they had maintained a cordial relationship until the sad incident.

Meanwhile, Turay has been arrested and detained at the Lumley police station while a full investigation is being conducted into the accident.

The corpse of the deceased was conveyed to the Connaught Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem, with help from the National Tourist Board of Sierra Leone.
