Man remanded for beheading Woman, 80

Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.1 yesterday (27th July 2017) remanded one Hassan alias ‘Sam-Med’ at the Pademba Road Male Correctional centre for allegedly murdering an eighty-year-old woman, Sia Matu Yobah at the old school complex, Hill Station.

Hassan, 34, was dragged to court on one count of murder contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

Police prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent, Mary Joe, alleged that on Monday, 17th July 2017, at Old School Complex, Hill Station, in Freetown, Murdered Sia Matu Yobah.

Meanwhile, the accused was not allowed to take a plea, while the prosecution applied for an adjournment so that he would have time to prepare her witnesses in the next adjourned date.

Magistrate Bangura however remanded the accused person, noting the seriousness of the offence.

The matter has been adjourned to the 28th July 2017 for further hearing.
