A fifty year old Ibrahim Sorie Sesay would face final judgement on December 6, 2016 after being on trial for over two years in the High Court for allegedly abusing a seven years old girl.

Sesay was charged to court in July, 2014 for allegedly abusing a seven years old girl, contrary to Section 19 of the Sexual Offenses Act of 2012. He has been in incarceration since his arrest.

State Prosecutor, Joseph Augustine Karim Sesay, yesterday led Dr. Matinda King as his last prosecution witness to testify in the matter.

Dr. King, who is attached to the Rain-bow centre, Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH), told the Appeal court judge, Justice Monfred Sesay that whilst on duty, she examined the victim and reduced the findings into a report.

She said during the virginal examination, she observed that the hymen was completely ruptured.

She told the court that there was no physical injury on the general body during her examination.

The medical report was tendered and formed part of the court’s record.

During cross examination by Legal Aid lawyer, O.C Spencer-Coker, the witness conceded that the hymen can be raptured through the use of any sharp object other than the penis.

According to the prosecutor, Sesay was committed to the High Court in August 2014. He had chosen at the lower court not to call any witness to testify on his behalf.

The accused yesterday told the court after put on his election that he relied on his statement he made to the police.

The prosecution had closed its case after summoning five witnesses to testify in the matter. He is due to address the court on November 15, while the defense will reply on 29th of the same month.
