Man, 38, remanded for penetrating girl, 15

One Felix Kakura Marah, 38, a driver, was yesterday (Wednesday 6th March) remanded at the Male Correctional Centre for allegedly penetrating a 15-year-old girl.

The accused was before Magistrate Abdul Sheriff on one count of Sexual Penetration of a child contrary to Section 19 of the Sexual Offenses Act No.12 of 2012.

Police Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent, Yeanoh E. Koroma, alleges that the accused person on Friday 1st June 2018 and Monday 16th July 2018, at Hill Station in Freetown, sexually penetrated a child below the age of 18 to wit 15years old.

Testifying in court, the victim recognized the accused as her guidance and recalled on the day of the alleged incident.

She said on the day of the incident, she was in the parlour when the accused arrived, started discussing with her and later asked her to have sex, which she agreed.

The witness said she removed her pant while the accused also removed his and inserted his penis into her virgina.

She narrated that after the intercourse, the accused gave her Le20, 000 to prepare food.

She told the court that the accused had sex with her several times and one day she met the accused at Lumley with a strange woman, who removed the car key from the engine.

She testified that the accused told the said woman to make false allegation against her that she had stolen her money.

She told the court that the woman took her to the Lumley Police Station and reported the matter.

The victim said while at the station, she explained what had transpired between her and the accused person, which made the police to issue her with medical request form.

The victim said she was later taken to the Rainbow Centre at the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH) for treatment and later returned the medical form to the police, where she made a statement.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Sheriff adjourned the matter to Tuesday 12th March.
