The Sierra Leone national home base team, Leone Stars, will join eight other countries in the inaugural Union of West African Federations (UFOA) A tournament scheduled for Dakar, Senegal.
According to Augustin Senghor, head of the Senegalese Football Federation, the tournament will be called Mawade Wade, in honour of a former national technical director of Senegal, and is slated to form part of activities to launch UFOA – a new body in the sub-region.
Besides Sierra Leone, eight other countries will participate in the meeting and also the tournament. The participating nations include; Senegal as host, The Gambia, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Cape Verde.
