Le50m bail for alleged sexual penetrator

Magistrate Albert Moody of the Magistrates’ Court No.1 on Tuesday granted a bail of fifty million Leones and two sureties in like sum to one Tommy Jambai.

The accused person was making his tenth appearance before the court on one count of sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of sexual offence Act of 2012.

The particulars of offence stated that the accused on diverse dates between 1st May, 2017 and unknown date at Sumalia Town in Freetown, sexually penetrated a child below eighteen years to wit 11 years.

Meanwhile, the accused was committed to High Court for further hearing and the matter was prosecuted by Sergeant 549 Marie Sesay.

In a related matter, Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Court No.2 also remanded thirty-nine year- old Mohamed Hajallie on allegation of sexual penetration contrary to law.

Police alleged that the accused person on a date between 1st January, 2015 and 8th April, 2017 at 84 City Road, Wellington sexually penetrated a child below eighteen years to wit fourteen years.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Constable 9155 Dwight Macarthy.
