Officials and members of Krootown Road Rangers (KTR) community football team last Saturday announced an official partnership with leading sports betting and lottery company, Mercury International.
Announcing the partnership at their official jersey unveiling ceremony at the Kroo Court House in Freetown, chairman of KTR, Frank Abulah Samura, said they were delighted to partner with the leading betting company in the country and hopes all parties maintain the corporation.
He said their partnership with Mercury International includes support to the KTR team, adding that the front view of both the team and supporters jerseys would always carry the logo of the betting company.
“We want to applaud Mercury International for this and we promise to work together as partners towards each other’s goal,” Chairman Samura said.
The Marketing Manager of Mercury International, Olubumi Kamara, said in an address that they were extremely happy to work with people in the community they have their office. He said Mercury International was known for it supports to sports and other developmental strides, which he promised would continue.
Kamara said: “ Krootown is part of our company and we are committed towards our social responsibility and we will not only stop at promoting sports or the football team but we will also create and offer employment for members of the community as we are about to introduce new product in the market.”
This is the first time the sports betting company has officially partnered with a community team, although in the past they have offered several sponsorship to communities across Sierra Leone.
