Mayor of the Kenema City Council, Joseph Samba Keifala, in his New Year’s message to the people of Kenema, revealed that plans are underway for the town field to get a 2,000-seater pavilion.
Mayor Keifala, who was former vice-president and later acting president of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), said the pavilion will help ease the tension from fans who always wanted to support not only the town team Kamboi Eagles, but also other sporting activities.
He further revealed that they are also planning to include the district team into their annual plan of activities so as to ease the burden on the team’s executive.
“Plans are underway for the construction of a 2,000-seater pavilion at the Kenema Town Field. We are also intending, as a council, to incorporate the Kamboi Eagles Football Club into our annual plan of activities so that the executive that manages the club would have less burden to carry,” Mayor Keifala stated.
