Kei Kamara named in Leone Stars squad for Sudan tie

Sierra Leone and Columbus Crew striker, Kei Kamara, has been named in the national team, Leone Stars squad for this weekend 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against Sudan in Khartoum.

Kamara, who is currently the U.S. Major League Soccer (MLS) leading goal-scorer with 10 goals, was earlier reported to be missing out from the squad.

However, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) media officer, Abu Bakarr Kamara, on Monday June 8 confirmed the player’s inclusion, bringing the number of invited professional players to five – Mustapha Bangura (unattached), Umaru Bangura (Dinamo Minsk), John Kamara (PAS Lamia) and Mohamed ‘Medo’ Kamara (Bolton Wanderers).

Meanwhile, the SLFA on Sunday travelled to Khartoum with a 26-man delegation, which comprises 10 officials and 16 home-based players.
