Sierra Leone’s veteran striker, Mohamed Kallon will alongside Portugal’s Luis Figo and Argentina legend Javier Zanetti make a return in the colours of Inter Milan as the club’s legends – ‘INTER FOREVER’ – commence their China Tour 2014.
The Nerazzurri legends are expected to play in Xi’an and Wuhan on the 14 and 19 October respectively, and are expected to play two local XIs, organised by Winning League in China.
Kallon, who recently came close to signing for Pune City FC in the Indian Premier League, said it is always good joining former teammates in such games.
He said: “I am happy to be in China with my former teammates and it’s always good to meet again. Some I played with, others I never played with, so it’s a great moment for all of us.”
The ‘INTER FOREVER’ group comprises of the club’s legends with former goalkeeper Francesco Toldo as the project manager. As mentioned on the club’s website, Javier Zanetti and Luis Figo said they are expected to meet two local XIs with big crowds for both games.
They said it’s a chance for the club’s Chinese fans to see some familiar old faces and show their support for Inter Milan. The China tour will also include social activities, school visits and numerous events with main sponsor Pirelli and a number of local partners.
Here’s the tour squad:
Goalkeepers: Francesco Toldo, Enrico Messaggi;
