Justice Cowan to be laid to rest today

Hon. Justice Edmond Kadoni Cowan’s body would be laid to rest today at the Ascension town cemetery after political and religious leaders would have paid their last tribute to the former statesman at a state funeral service.

Justice Cowan died on Wednesday 24th January 2018, aged 81

Until his death, Justice Cowan had served Administrator of the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Chamber of Commerce, former Chairman of the Constitutional Review Committee, former Ombudsman of Sierra Leone, Former Speaker of Parliament and a retired judge of the Court of Appeal

State vigil was held yesterday at the Miatta Conference Hall where various speakers eulogized the former brave statesman.

Meanwhile, his corpse would be laid out today (Feb.9) in the House of parliament where he had served as Speaker under the Sierra Leone Peoples Party regime.

From parliament, his body would be conveyed to the Samaria West African Methodist Church at Big Waterloo Street at 2:30pm for funeral service.

He would be buried at the Ascension Town cemetery.
